I need to vent for a moment. I have a sinus infection; my daughter, Bryce, has a runny nose; my nanny who is VERY helpful, is out with a bad back for the week; my parents are in Europe on vacation; and my husband is in Chicago on business – leaving me with not much help and two two-year-olds. Pause to take a deep breath. Now, in the scheme of things, these are all small problems, but when you do not feel so great yourself, everything feels like an obstacle.
Managing a daily routine on your own takes a lot of coordination and future planning, which I was not exactly prepared for this week. I wish I lived in one of those “Staples” advertisements where I could just hit the easy button and my apartment would be clean, dinner would be made, the kids would be dressed, taken to camp, fed lunch and dinner and bathed.
Until then…wine and my imagination will have to do.
This handy dandy cup does make my life a little easier though. After the third snack spill of the day, and the deafening hunger shouts as I dragged my kids to the pharmacy with me, I broke out this mug, filled it with as many interesting cereal varieties as I could find in my pantry and prayed the children’s nutritional authorities would not judge me.
The best part, you can literally shake it upside down and the contents will not fall out. Also, it is easier to reach into than those silicone or plastic flap containers. It has a soft fabric opening that kids (and adults) can seamlessly slip their fingers through without struggling to pull up the contents.
Anything to make my day a little simpler right now.
