It has been a little gloomy in New York these past couple of days, which despite the dampness, has been a welcome reprieve from the constant frenzy of our summer pace. The yucky weather has forced us to slow down a little bit, perhaps watch a bit more television, but definitely spend more time in pajamas and make a whole lot of mess inside.
The start of school was emotional for both myself and Bryce and Brody, and I think we are all breathing a little easier now that we have settled into a familiar and somewhat comfortable routine. Luckily (not!), thanks to Bryce and Brody’s recent early wake up a la 6 am, we have had plenty of time to get out the door in the morning. Combine that with more recently skipping naps, and we are all in sweatpants by 6 pm and in bed shortly after.
In case you didn’t see the theme, I have been wearing a lot of comfortable clothing lately, and so have my children. These pajamas by Up Past 8 are a huge favorite in my house, and I know in other toddler-going-on-teenager households. And, you can get them steeply discounted on Amazon from their original 30 dollar plus price tag! In fact, Bryce is begging to wear them out as street-wear, and I would honestly let her because she looks so adorable in them. They are fuzzy, with the most adorable patterns to appeal to young interests, like kiss marks or puppy dogs and kitty cats. Paired with a thermal for sleep or lounging, they will likely be a winter wardrobe staple – which means, we need more. They are also such an adorable birthday present for kids because they are actually a soft, plush item of clothing that they will be actually excited to put on. They feel like a cross between a stuffed animal and a terry cloth towel. Both items I think we are all more than happy to wrap our bodies in.
Bryce literally exclaims, ‘It’s cozy time,’ when we take the pants out, which actually makes me feel like being lazy is a real activity.
Sometimes, when shopping for my kids, I find myself assessing whether the x-large children’s sizes would fit my own body?
