Now that the kids are potty trained, and nearing the time for their own ‘big-kid’ beds, I thought it was appropriate to update their nursery a bit in order to reflect their growing bodies and personalities.
The tiny footprint collages made by NICU nurses during their first weeks of life have been worn on the walls with pride. They signaled the perseverance and growth of these tiny infants into strong and robust toddlers, and this art was also a cathartic symbol of how hard we ALL worked over the past two-and-a-half years to tackle each milestone.

Indeed, a growing girl has to have goals. Bryce screamed ‘pocketbook,’ the moment she saw the shining silver bag hanging on the wall and I knew this was reflective of the trouble ahead. I certainly wasn’t helping shape her choices with such a piece.
For Brody, I chose a similar silver blueprint drawing of a Porsche. I loved the metallic silver etching of these prints, which matched nicely with the pale blue and grey interior of the room. The diagram-theme is muted enough to blend in with the softness of the room, but also architectural and sophisticated enough to make things a little less baby.
I am drooling over some of their fashion and beauty prints, I just need a dressing room and wall space to showcase all those labels.
