My daughter, Bryce, finally has hair! It has been two years but she has just enough to tie up in a little rubber band a la “Pebbles Flintstone.” What has me more excited, are all the new possibilities of bows that I can accessorize her outfits with. Honestly, a daughter is like having your own living Barbie doll, just a lot louder and not as curvy, yet.
I have spent a lot of time combing the streets of Madison Avenue and scrolling the internet looking for the perfect bow. Not too overwhelming, to frame her petite face, but also substantial enough to be noticed. After months of promising to buy her ice cream if she keeps her bow in, I finally found one we are BOTH excited about.
Poppy Bows is an Etsy shop out of Rhode Island. The owner lines the clips behind each of the ribbons with a non-slip, ridged grip that stays in even the finest heads of hair, trust me. While there are multiple size offerings, the four inch is bold enough to make a statement without being overpowering. Bryce is now embracing all things girly and actually asks for a bow each morning when she is getting dressed- ALWAYS purple.
We are building up quite a collection here, primarily in grosgrain, which I think is the most versatile (read: little finger smudges can be more easily washed off). First bows, then bags…
